Joint Venture Yields First Fully Integrated Ultra-Short-Range Proximity Sensor

by Mat Dirjish

In partnership under the name RADAC, Tier 1 supplier ADAC and radar technology provider Ainstein are unveiling what they call the first integrated, ultra-short range radar proximity sensor. Reportedly “built from the ground up”, RADAC’s ultra-short-range proximity sensor focuses on three core elements that reduce the time, cost, and communication necessary for integration of other current technologies on the market.

The first of these three elements is contactless activation. This embraces configurable presence detection or gesture recognition and selectable user preferences.

Second up is reliable recognition that enable users to keep both feet on the ground when activating the sensor. In other words, there’s no unsafe kicking motions and performance is reliable in all environmental conditions.

The last element is the component is an all-in-one sensor. It employs customizable programming for access, power opening, obstacle detection, and parking assistance.

RADAC is offering live demonstrations of its sensor technology. For more details and/or to arrange a demo, visit the RADAC website.
