Novel Machine Takes Guesswork Out Of Hair Coloring

by Mat Dirjish

LG and CHI’s Dr. Farouk Shami are unveiling what they believe to be the first hair-color machine, which, reportedly, can instantly create unlimited formulations and dispense perfectly mixed hair color in under two minutes. The patent-pending machine is a digitally-controlled color customization system providing 30,000 recommended formulations with the possibility to create unlimited, precise color formulations.

Addressing environmental concerns, the LG CHI Color Master Factory boasts waste reduction by 30%. An array of sensors tracks dispensed colors for inventory purposes as well as to scale colors for precision formulating. Limitless formulations are on tap for permanent, semi-permanent, and demi-permanent color formulations.

The machine offers custom formulations, gray coverage, and tint back options with 108 shades and eight additives selected from a color chart with color formulations that are ammonia and PPD free. A simulation mode allows stylists to take a picture of their clients to try on the color first with before and after images.

Color Master Factory houses 12 recyclable cylinders. To begin formulating, users have two options: manually program the machine using the touchscreen display or manage functions directly from a tablet or a smart phone. For a tablet or phone, users can download the COLORMASTER app from the Google Play app store.

The LG CHI Color Master Factory resides in a stainless-steel cabinet measuring 18 in. x 22 in. x 22 in. and weighs under 100 lbs. For deeper details, data, and delusions, visit the LG CHI Color Master Factory and Farouk Systems.
