Year of the Horse Art Installations Debut In Macau

by Mat Dirjish

Celebrating the Chinese spring festival of the Year of the Horse, two large-scale zodiac-themed art installations make their debut at Studio City, Macau. The exhibit is the second partnership between installation artist XiaoDi and Studio City, following the 2025 Mecha Snake project.

A featured work, Fortune Racetrack is reportedly the world’s first track-based mechanical racing horse art installation. Focusing around a large galloping horse, the installation features four rotating race horses that visitors can ride. The Glorious Chariot segment places the horse in a mid-air pose. Blending futuristic mechanical design with artistic expression, the two installations have become centerpieces of Studio City’s Chinese New Year celebration under the theme “Soaring Forward with Strength and Speed,”

XiaoDi, a.k.a. General Xiao, is a cross-disciplinary installation artist and the founder of Dalian Betop Cultural and Technology Group. Via his dedication to mechanical art, he has developed his signature “The Art of Wow” design philosophy. Rooted in the concept of Technology + Art + Culture, XiaoDi’s works bring steel structures to life through precise mechanical engineering and immersive interactive design.
