Step Sequencer Makes Anyone Musical

by Mat Dirjish

Musical Beings, a company founded and run by friends passionate about music, is launching Tembo, an electronic instrument the company describes as a “playful step sequencer designed to make everyone feel musical.” A full featured instrument, Tembo is both tactile and inviting. Its wooden interface offers visual cues to guide creativity. As per its creators, a beginner can pick Tembo up and start making music intuitively.

Tembo’s simple and inviting exterior, disguises a sophisticated set of features that let the instrument evolve and grow with its player. Features include a sampler with integral microphone, a MIDI out, adjustable audio effects, and a line in for an external microphone or instrument.

Musical Beings’ founders come from tech and music backgrounds as veterans of Google, Waves Audio, Wix, and Simply and have one thing in common. Ayal Rosenberg, Musical Beings co-founder, muses, “We’re not professional musicians but music is huge in our lives. We’ve been playing and making music our whole lives as amateurs. But we never felt truly good at it or highly musical. We want to change this. We want everyone to feel musical, especially the youngest musicians.”

For greater gleanings, visit the Musical Beings website. Also, should you be so inclined, music makers, parents, design aficionados, and tech lovers can help bring Tembo into the world by participating in Musical Being’s Tembo Kickstarter campaign.
