ROLEC, a manufacturer of high-performance enclosures rated IP 65 to IP 69K, command/HMI housings, and suspension arm systems for industrial electronics and electrical control equipment, has introduced its profiCASE diecast HMI enclosures that promise to safeguard in-cab electronics. Target applications include electronics found in tractors and construction vehicles.
The enclosures provide multiple mounting options and are mountable in-cab, on rails, or on support arm systems. Engineers can specify profiCASE with a hinged lid for ease of access, or a screw mounted lid for security.
The company’s IP65 through IP67-rated enclosures protect touch-screen systems in agricultural and off-highway vehicles. According to the company, in-cab touch-screen systems require high levels of ingress protection against dust, moisture, and harsh working conditions. The profiCASE IP65 through IP67enclosures are suitable both for agriculture and civil engineering designs, as well as mechanical engineering and underground mining applications.
The profiCASE enclosures house touch screens, displays, and keypads measuring up to 10 inches. Units are installable directly in the cab or mounted to a VESA 100 bracket. Additionally, integral handle strips allow users to adjust the enclosure to achieve optimal viewing angles and, for maintenance and installation, the captive opens to 95º, providing access to internal components. The lid secures with locking screws and concealed hinges that prevent detachment and maintain a clean front appearance.
Two enclosure versions are available: a PCD version with concealed rear screw mounting and a PCV version with front screw mounting for direct attachment. Both versions use Torx screws to deter tampering. Manufactured from 100% recycled diecast aluminum, two sizes are available: 12.6 in. x 11.81 in. x 3.35 in. for screens measuring up to 7 in., and 15.75 in. x 14.96 in. x 3.35 in. for screens measuring up to 10 in.
Color options include light gray (RAL 7035) and anthracite (RAL 7016), with custom colors available on request. Available accessories include cable glands, pressure equalization elements, terminal blocks, cross rails, and DIN rails.
