Mobile Recording Interface Boosts AI Speech-to-Text Accuracy

by Mat Dirjish

Justice AV Solutions (JAVS), designer and manufacturer of courtroom recording, evidence presentation, and audio-video equipment, introduced its Nimble 2 mobile recording interface at the 2026 Unity Summit in Nashville, TN. As per JAVS, its interface enables the capture of audio with superior clarity, which promises to improve AI-based speech-to-text accuracy and transcript quality.

Groomed for legal recording workflows, Nimble 2 is a portable multi-channel audio interface that works specifically with the company’s FlexMic microphone family. Capable of fitting in a laptop bag, it allows court reporters, stenographers, and legal professionals to deploy professional-grade multi-microphone recording environments virtually anywhere.

In contrast to installed courtroom hardware, Nimble 2 operates as a portable USB-C audio interface that connects directly to a laptop and supports up to eight JAVS FlexMic inputs. Personnel can use the recording software of their choice to capture up to eight separate channels of audio in 1:1 stereo or mono. And it can power up to four JM24 Mini FlexMics from a USB-C connection, thereby eliminating the need for any external power source. Other features include a browser-based configuration interface accessible directly from the host device, allowing users to configure microphone behavior, gain settings, presets, and mixer profiles without additional software.

The platform also supports standalone operation with third-party recording and stenography software, allowing users to continue using their preferred workflows. For deeper details, visit the Justice AV Solutions website.
