Headphone manufacturer Audeze unveils its MM-520, the next evolution of its studio headphones in the Manny Marroquin Signature Series. The MM-520 integrates the company’s Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator (SLAM) technology to provide audio professionals and creators with what Audeze claims is “unprecedented bass accuracy and spatial detail.”

Developed in collaboration with Grammy-winning mix engineer Manny Marroquin, the MM-520 allegedly delivers mixes that translate perfectly across any system. Via SLAM technology, the MM-520 optimizes air pressure within the earcup to enhance low-frequency impact and soundstage transparency without sacrificing mid-range neutrality.
Notable features in a nutshell include:
- SLAM tech enhances bass performance and spatial imaging, providing a more visceral yet accurate low-end response.
- Ensures mastering-grade reliability and emotional engagement.
- Employs 90-mm planar magnetic drivers with Ultra-Thin Uniforce diaphragms and Fazor phase management for low distortion and clinical precision.
- High sensitivity and low impedance allows users to drive the MM-520 from consoles, interfaces, or laptops.
- Upgraded memory foam earpads provide comfort during marathon mixing sessions, with magnetic attachment for easy replacement.
The MM-520 is available for $1,699.00. For deeper details and data, peruse the Audeze MM-520 overview.
