Collaborators Bring Music Based Caregiving To Families

by Mat Dirjish

SingFit, a music platform designed by a music therapist to deliver active music engagement, and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) are partnering to bring SingFit’s active music engagement app to more caregivers. SingFit will offer AARP members and registered users free music resources and discounted access to its platform.

As per AARP, there were approximately 63 million caregivers in the US in 2025. Juggling multiple roles and demands, caregivers often experience high levels of emotional, physical, and financial stress. According to an August 2024 report by the CDC, stress can lead to significantly worse health outcomes for caregivers when compared to non-caregivers.

SingFit creates connections between caregivers and their loved ones. Its approach to active music engagement draws on a catalog that includes major hits and unexpected favorites. The app guides caregivers to find their loved one’s preferred music to enable an engaging workout for the mind and body. SingFit’s Lyric Coach track prompts participants with spoken words in advance, helping them to sing the lyrics.

SingFit co-founder and CEO Rachel Francine explains, “SingFit encourages more people to sing, an activity that research shows can impact our minds and bodies in positive ways. We’re extremely pleased that AARP has recognized our platform’s ability to support caregivers and help reduce their burden by actively using the instrument we all have, our voices.”
