Music Artist Designed Apps Build Deeper Fan Relationships

by Mat Dirjish

Norwegian music technology company oiid is launching a generation of artist-designed and branded superfan apps that promise to build deeper fan relationships. Reportedly interactive and intimate, the apps give artists and their fan communities a dedicated, two-way place to come together.

The first wave of apps for both iOS and Android are live with artists including Enslaved, Alexia Evellyn, Orions Belte, and Blood Command. In an oiid app, fans can engage with artist posts, access exclusive content, participate in fan communities, discover events, and purchase tickets, while also interacting with the music through oiid’s proprietary technology.

The apps also encourage direct-to-fan commerce. Through a Shopify integration, artists can release merchandise, vinyl drops, and curated products directly inside the app. And the platform supports subscription-based features and member-only experiences tailored to the most engaged fans.

Frank Østevold, CEO and founder of oiid, said, “We believe artists should own their own digital space. The deepest fan relationships happen in environments where artists control the experience, the communication, and the data. oiid’s apps create these vibrant environments.” For more details, visit the oiid website.
