VirtualDJ, Atomix Development’s DJ software used by pro and beginner DJs, clubs, radio stations, and performers, adds a trio of AI-supported, creativity-boosting updates. As per Atomix, the 2026 updates integrate capabilities that free DJs and electronic artists by giving them superpowers to mix, and perform.
Updates add voice generation and lyric substitution directly plus vibescripting, described as the capability to automate workflows and customize controls using natural language. Relying on AI’s potential to boost creativity, the updates expand the application’s vision for digital DJing. These include:
- The ability to listen to lyrics and display them alongside a track’s waveform, making transitions smoother and opening up possibilities for unique wordplay.
- DJs can create custom voiceovers or replace lyrics within a playing track.
- Instant, responsive visuals by generating loops (AILoops), and responsive visualizers (Shaders) from simple prompts.
- Fluid beatgrids and beat stabilization. For tracks with variable beats-per-minute (BPM), VirtualDJ can stabilize beats for a transition or apply a more fluid grid.
- A new effects engine provides 122 effects.
- Vibescripting allows DJs to craft custom automation and scripts, and assign controls in natural language.
- AI-powered search for finding tracks by describing what the user is looking for.
- A Karaoke mode that can instantly spin up a complete karaoke experience via its speech-to-text engine that extracts the lyrics from a track.

Additionally, VirtualDJ 2026 also adds out-of-the-box compatibility with new DJ controllers and streaming services. For greater gleanings, visit the VirtualDJ website.
