PettiChat, a tech company focusing on AI for animal science, has created a wearable pet translator it claims will make the ability to talk to one’s pet a reality. Perhaps not quite Doctor Doolittle approved, the company claims its translator enables a true two-way conversation. It translates pet sounds into human language and also turns words into sounds pets instinctively recognize.

Weighing 27g, the device attaches to a pet’s collar and reportedly delivers accurate real-time translations in just 1.2 seconds. What makes this possible is an AI model trained on over one million vocal and behavior samples, achieving an accuracy rate of 94.6%.
Addressing the uniqueness of individual pets, PettiChat employs AI adaptive learning, allowing it to gradually learn a pet’s specific vocal habits over time. The more it’s worn, the more accurate it becomes. Through a companion app’s chat history, owners can revisit conversation details at any time, and an integrated location tracking feature provides 24/7 safety.
I wonder if this will work on my pet rhinoceros, we definitely have some communication issues. However, PettiChat is available now for global pre-orders on Kickstarter. For greater gleanings, visit the PettiChat website.
