IEEE IEDM Announces 2026 Call for Papers

by IEEE

The 72nd  annual IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) has issued a Call for Papers seeking original work by the semiconductor industry’s leading researchers in all areas of microelectronics technology, representing the theme “Devices at the Heart of the Intelligence Revolution.” The 2026 IEEE IEDM will take place December 12-16, 2026 at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel, with OnDemand access to recorded presentations after the event.

The paper submission deadline is Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 23:59 PDT. Authors are asked to submit four-page papers electronically in IEEE Xplore®-compatible PDF format and the accepted papers will be published as-is in the proceedings. A limited number of late-news papers covering the most recent, most noteworthy developments will be accepted, with a submission deadline of Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Complete information for paper submission is here.

IEDM 2026 encourages submissions in all relevant areas, with special emphasis on:

  • Advanced logic technology platforms and applications
  • Advanced memory technologies
  • Advanced packaging, chiplets, and package-device interactions
  • Advanced power devices, modules, integration, and systems
  • AI, including Deep Learning and new compute paradigms
  • Devices/circuits/system interaction
  • Devices for RF, 5G/6G, THz, and mm-wave
  • Device simulation and modeling for emerging technologies
  • Implantable and wearable devices
  • In-memory computing
  • Neuromorphic computing and AI accelerators
  • Non-charge-based materials, devices and systems
  • Novel materials, increased sustainability, and innovative applications for next generation devices
  • Optoelectronics, displays and imaging systems
  • Quantum computing and sensing devices
  • Reliability and security of electronic devices/circuits/systems
  • Sensors, MEMS, and bioelectronics
  • Silicon Photonics

Technical subcommittees for IEDM 2026 are as follows:

  • Advanced Logic Technology (ALT)
  • Emerging Device and Compute Technology (EDT)
  • Memory Technology (MT)
  • Modeling and Simulation (MS)
  • Neuromorphic and Novel Computing (NC)
  • Optoelectronics, Displays, and Imagers (ODI)
  • Power, Millimeter Wave and Analog Technology (PMA)
  • Reliability of Systems & Devices (RSD)
  • Sensors, MEMS and Bioelectronics (SMB)
  • Student Presentations & Best Student Paper Award

Papers written by students as lead authors based on their own work are highly encouraged and will be considered for the Best Student Paper Award. Papers must be identified as student papers at the time of submission, and the presentation must be given by the student to be eligible. The award is chosen based on both paper and presentation, and the winner will be announced and honored at IEDM 2027.
