Claiming to trim automotive design footprints while increasing efficiency, Vishay Intertechnology’s surface-mount ICM5050-A, ICM6050-A, IFLN-1210BE-A, and IFLN-1812CZ-A automotive-grade, common-mode chokes are available in compact case sizes. Depending on the component, these include 5050, 6050, 1210, and 1812 case sizes.

The ICM5050-A and ICM6050-A wire-wound ferrite common mode chokes specify current ratings up to 11A in the 5050 case size and 14A in the 6050 case size. Measuring 12 mm x 11 mm x 6 mm and 15 mm x 13 mm x 6 mm, respectively, the devices replace larger toroidal common mode chokes, which reportedly measure 19 mm x 30 mm x 28 mm.

Also ferrite common mode chokes, the IFLN-1210BE-A and IFLN-1812CZ-A specify a common mode impedance up to 11 kΩ at 100 MHz in 1210 and 1812 case sizes. Shared specs of the four components include an operating temperature range up to +150°C and DCRs from 0.4 mΩ to 12 mΩ.

RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, the chokes are suitable for reflow soldering and compatible with automated pick and place assembly.
