Cameras Deliver Smarter, Efficient, And Accessible Thermal Imaging

by Mat Dirjish

Thermal imaging and intelligent-detection technology company RISION claims its Magic Series thermal cameras combine high thermal resolution, real-time analytics, automated reporting, and AI fusion for smarter, more efficient, and accessible thermal imaging. The series includes the RISION Magic and RISION Magic Pro cameras, both of which connect to a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer via USB-C.

Both models turn users’ existing device into a portable thermal inspection tool. Weighing 24 grams, the cameras draw power from the connected device, require no separate battery, and are compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

Both also integrate the company’s QuadIR super resolution and AI BiSpectrix fusion technologies. Reportedly, QuadIR doubles pixel density of the final thermal image, while AI BiSpectrix aligns thermal data with visible details captured by the connected camera. This promises to help users associate a temperature difference with a recognizable component, opening, or surface.

Via the company’s View app, users can view and measure temperatures, choose from 12 color palettes, and access core calibration functions without mandatory account registration. Mobile and desktop applications are available without additional software fees.

Prices for the RISION Magic and Magic Pro are $139 and $299, respectively. For deeper details, peruse the RISION Magic and RISION Magic Pro overviews.
