Anti-pinch sensors detect obstacles in their path and prevent injury or damage by stopping or reversing the movement of a mechanism, e.g., vehicle doors, windows, hatch backs, etc.
As per the company, powered side doors, trunks, and liftgates are becoming mainstream on intelligent vehicles. Its anti-pinch technology elevates closure safety with real-time, millisecond-level tactile protection. Using proprietary touch algorithms and a 5-ms detection cycle, the sensor detects physical contact instantaneously. It works seamlessly with latch controllers to trigger immediate door reversal or abort cinching, creating dual-layer protection combined with vehicle motor torque feedback.
YFORE claims its flexible anti-pinch sensing strips eliminate blind zones across the sealing edges of power side doors, trunks, and liftgates. They work with compact electronic control units embedded within door inner panels.
Additionally, the sensors promise automotive-grade reliability and support the CAN FD communication protocol for transmitting sensor data and control information over two-wire interconnections. They specify an activation success rate greater than 99.9% and a false trigger rate of less than 0.5%.
