Embodied AI Tennis Robot Poised To Be The Perfect Trainer

by Mat Dirjish

Claiming to advance a new era of tennis training, sports-robotics company and sponsor of the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals TENNIIX unveils its ULTRA MAX embodied AI tennis robot. The fruit of collaborations with Shenzhen Enhanced Power Technology Co., Ltd. and robotics company LimX Dynamics, the ULTRA MAX pairs tennis intelligence with robotic mobility to explore a new model of sports training.

On court, the ULTRA MAX delivers topspin shots and high, deep looping returns, varying placement to move the human trainee around the court. Providing demanding exchanges, the system creates sustained pressure that can give a professional player a challenging workout.

Reflecting on the collaboration, the robot integrates the TENNIIX PRO AI tennis training system with LimX Dynamics’ TRON 2 mobility platform. PRO AI provides perception and decision-making capabilities that operate without external sensing equipment. Its system tracks ball trajectories, spin and landing points, detects player positioning and movement, and receives training instructions through voice interaction. Adaptive AI adjusts deliveries based on the quality of human players’ returns, generating varied patterns including fast serves, short balls, heavy topspins, and slices.

Robotics company LimX Dynamics contributes a wheeled-leg robotic platform supporting multidirectional movement, turning, rapid stops, and stable positioning. Its adjustable structure enables delivery heights from 1.2 meters to 1.6 meters.

Reportedly, these technologies forecast a shift from preset ball-feeding systems to responsive training that challenges a player’s movement, shot selection, and consistency. For deeper details, serves, and backhands, visit the TENNIIX and LimX Dynamics websites.
